I’m an American living abroad, so I didn’t celebrate the American Independence Day on the fourth of July. My family always celebrated with barbeques, fireworks, and the city festival at the lake. I miss that.

The lake festival involved a huge fireworks show, live bands, and lot of vendors selling all kinds of things from food to fashion.

I think it’s a good thing to remember the historical Declaration of Independence. It is a special document.

In a remarkable coincidence, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence later to serve as Presidents of the United States, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration.
