This week Anpanman is in serious danger. Luckily, he’s going to have help from Cheese the Dog. I think I’m getting better at translating Anpanman into English. I realize now, I have to understand the spirit of the story and not try to translate too closely. Of course, Anpanman stories use child language in Japanese, and a good children’s story in English also uses children’s langauge. The language of story telling is special, so I’m trying to use interesting English. Of course, I also hope to make it easy to understand too. I think it’s important that it sounds nice.
